A Little Bit Closer.................
Got a call last night from our wonderful neighbors.....The gardens are tilled!!! YEA, the planting can now begin. It has rained a little bit today so that should be even better! Can't wait to get there and get my hands in the dirt!
More to come on that!
Gotta to check on "my girls" I have not gotten in the hive yet since I installed them 2 weeks ago. I have tried to let them get used to their new home and get accustom to life in Oriole, Indiana. I purchased my bees from another beekeeper in Lanesville, IN........but I am not sure where these girls are originally from. Oriole is a beautiful spot nestled quietly in between Leopold and English, Indiana. Small but oooooohhhhhhhh so beautiful. My family says "It's not heaven, but you can see it from here".......... I just think that our AWESOME God made this wonderful place for us and I am going to enjoy it! My Grandparent owned one of our houses and my parents at one time the other. They have not had the TLC needed in many years and we are trying to bring them back.........the gardens are helping. My Grandma Riddle had beautiful flowers and Grandpa had a wonderful garden....with the help of my parents! The woods behind us, bring the creatures up for closer looks sometimes..... and even a nibble or two on our plants :) that is okay as long as you share with us!
More to come................

Blueberry bushes....new adventure
We have one bush that is Jersey and one bush that is an Elliot. Don't know much about either. We will see!
Getting started! Lots to do with our bees and gardens!
Hello from the frazzled but excited gardener! Spring time is my favorite time...we have just come out of a long winter(so years like this one loooooonger then some) and it is getting warmer, days longer Andy friend, Mr. Sun is high and shining down on us!
My gardens are lives of mine, like my children, my family, and my friends....I LOvE my gardens! I always want to spend more time with them then I do....just like the previous mentioned, but with a part-time/full time job at school and VERY active sons, I do the best I can to divide my time between all!
I hope this blog is somewhere I can put down my thoughts, ideas, and dreams about my gardens, flowers, veggies, and my special "girls" my 3 hives of Italian bees.....more to come on those!
I hope when you read my blog we can share ideas, recipes, tips, and love of all things in nature!!! Some people have passion for singing, some are great on technology, some are the best cooks (lots of my family are in that category).....me.....I am a nerd about gardens and bees!!! My dream is to be an almost-homesteader....some time/ medium size farmer....whatever you want to call it! My hubby is not a great veggie water and he loves his cable (ESPN is a constant in our house) so we couldn't be totally "off the grid" but I want to get a s close as possible! Hope you enjoy my lil journey into blogging about my gardens and bees! Thanks!!
